We are Reproductive Transparency Now. Our mission is to advance reproductive justice by raising awareness about anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers through community outreach, education, and advocacy.

Crisis pregnancy centers, or CPCs, are anti-abortion organizations seeking to intercept pregnant people in order to discourage and stop them from receiving abortion care by using deceptive and predatory tactics, including misleading advertising and guilt-tripping.

Anti-abortion CPCs usually call themselves pregnancy care centers or pregnancy help centers in order to create the illusion that people in need of reproductive care are in the right place for help. However, most CPCs are unregulated and do not provide services that meet clinical standards. Most are also not subject to HIPAA privacy laws.

There are more than 2,600 CPCs across the U.S. pretending to be healthcare providers in order to intercept and steer pregnant people away from real medical care. These unregulated centers, which we call "Fake Clinics," outnumber real abortion clinics by more than three to one--even in Illinois.
